To achieve a life of excellence, your every purpose should lead to the perfect purpose.

HOW TO FULFILL PURPOSE

There is so much to do to fulfill purpose in life, especially the divine. Hence, the caption of the next subheading.

A. PURSUING PURPOSE?

WORK AWAITS YOU

Romans 8:28 And we know that God causes everything to work together* for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. (NLT)

Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women, there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.1

1-Matthew 11:11-12

To take anything by force, you should pray and work hard.

Therefore, you should take your position in life by force by allying with Jesus Christ.

Of yourself, you can do nothing, which is to say, you are on your own.

While reading Matthew 5, it becomes clear that you dine for so many reasons, including grace to forgive, to love as you ought, to be joyful, for spiritual nourishment, strength, power to create, etc., to make things happen.

You receive power to manifest in your generation, i.e. to start just where you are; e.g. in marriage (as a husband or wife), academics, occupation, church, ministry, business, as a child, in-law, neighbor, friend, citizen, believer, etc.

Prayer: Father, in the name of Jesus, by Your grace, make me a doer of your word in every area of life.

THE PURPOSEFUL APPROACH

Make this CONFESSION of faith: O Lord, I receive grace right now, to be a doer of your word and not a hearer only. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

1. The practical pursuit of vision is the process that brings about the achievement of purpose.
2. Your purpose is what you set out to achieve during your pursuit so that at the end of the day, you can smile with satisfaction.
3. The fulfillment of purpose is the driving force behind every achievement in life. It means to reach the unreached places and points, where knowledge is actualized, or converted to action, to yield profits, promotion, and the fulfillment of expectations.
4. Knowledge is available to enhance your level of information, which you need to pursue and apply to more action. By so doing, you achieve or fulfill your grand purpose. Thus, making efforts to always act on your knowledge, is necessary to achieve a fruitful vision pursuit.
5. To understand the Word of God is to understand why you are here, and find fulfillment in pursuing your life purpose.
6. Echoing the call of the Lord to the hungry and thirsty people, inviting them into His presence, to dine with Him, is, of course, the sole purpose of this book.
7. As a purposeful person, who desires to pursue enduring love for God, unreservedly, here is a message to take along with you.

B. FINDING PURPOSE IN YOUR DAILY TASKS

If anything needs your urgent attention, it is your daily duty. To fail in that area is to fail into the future. Success in what you do is cumulative of your regular daily input.

Your everyday tasks demand your day-to-day effort. Leaving for the next day what should be done today is only saving one day’s headache for another, even when that day has more than enough of its own. That means the problems would only get compounded by postponement and procrastination.

The saying goes, thus: “If wishes were horses, beggars would ride”. Work lacking movement, or action, is only wishful thinking. And since it is obvious that wishes are not horses, you had better move beyond wishes to work.

E.g. John the Baptist knew his calling and he went out into the wilderness to work it out.

Now, the question is, do you know yours? Are you willing to work it out? You would only end up envying those who work hard when you fail to.

God wants you to work, hence, He worked.

Going about your daily tasks begins and ends with force. Whereas, those in white-collar jobs in the civil service, private companies, etc., are forced by rules and regulations to work hard.

PURPOSE DEMANDS DISCIPLINE

Well, it then means, you must enforce some rules and regulations to guide your business to success, and this takes discipline.

Again, you must force yourself to be disciplined, to obey your own rules, such as waking up early, doing your necessary devotion, chores, etc.

Jesus pursued His ministry by waking up early to go to a quiet place of prayer. – Mark 1:35.

You must force yourself to do the needful to enable you to achieve your growth goals, in your areas of endeavors. If the work you choose to do is not large enough or demanding of much effort and time, your success too may not be significant enough to achieve meaningful growth.

Thank God you have what it takes in God’s Word to achieve the success you need.

PURPOSE AND DIVINE GLORY

Divine purpose and divine glory are close companions. one cannot exist without the other. 

Good is that success that God sees as good. Hence, for such to be the case, it must please God. It must glorify God and help man.

Ungodly success is easy to achieve anyhow, but it does not please God. God’s word gives you the force to apply daily to make good your success, thus, making the regular study, and constant meditation on it, a must.

Work is refreshing and healthy work, health-restoring. Whereas, when you lack work, you lack a means of livelihood, you are impoverished, being battered, and shattered by hunger, and your health continues to deteriorate until it fails.

May that not be your portion, as you prepare yourself to work.

Hence, Prayer, Diligence, Perseverance, Determination, Praising God, Thanksgiving, Appreciation, Faith, Word confession, etc., in no particular order, are some divine strategies of success, which all should apply, to those who desire success.

Whether you want to classify some of the above as main or sub-strategies of success, that would not deduct from the importance of any one of them.         

PROCESSING     

There are processes to every task, some of which may be few, while others take several to accomplish.

E.g., farming is an occupational work, in which, aside from the groundwork at the farm, the farm produce also needs to be processed after harvest before consumption.

E.g., Cassava Processing

In the processing stage of cassava, peeling of the skin closely follows the harvest, then, milling, or soaking for several days to soften, draining off the water, and drying at different levels, etc., are all applicable.

The farmer prays for good weather all year round: he needs the rain for crop growth/good yield; the sun for a successful harvest, processing, drying, etc.

The farmer needs faith to sow his seeds and back up His prayers for a fruitful harvest.

Appreciation and thanksgiving in worship and praise to the Lord for the strength and ability He gives, make the answer to your prayer of faith sustainable.

YOUR RIGHTEOUS PURPOSE

The righteous are as bold as a lion. There is no doubt, that righteousness gives boldness. Righteousness is of the Lord, hence, you need Jesus, to possess His righteousness.

Salvation is a prerequisite for righteousness and again, only Jesus can save.

The life of the farmer all goes to show how much we must all depend on the Lord at every stage of our lives.

You are saved by grace through faith in the word of God. Thus, you should accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour.

You then receive power to become, i.e., work it out, by taking up your cross daily and following Jesus. Working out your salvation requires fear and trembling before God.

Whereas you were bold and boastful in sin in time past, now you must allow Christ to rule and reign in your life.

THE STRENGTH FACTOR

Strength in the Lord now paves the way for toughness, courage, gratitude, more grace, determination, increased faith, love, peace, joy, etc., and they must now be your watchwords, to continually enhance your work performance. As the location delivers joy and peace to you, the joy of the Lord gives you strength in all situations, especially where contrary events play out against your joy.

CONFESSION: Thank you so much, Lord Jesus. You are the sunshine in my life, my everlasting light, my ability, and my capability. May your name be praised. Amen.

EMBRACE COURAGE

There are so many things out there, even within, designed and orchestrated to discourage you; but armed with courage, you can forge ahead. Therefore, receive courage from God’s word, to remain courageous in the Lord.
